Events

Finding trials, camps, games and recruiting events near you, RSVPs, reminders and creating your own events.

Steps refer to the SportNet iOS and Android app1 topics

Events

Where to find it: Discover → Events

Browse sports events under Discover → Events. A week strip sits at the top with your agenda below it; tap a day to see just that day, tap it again to clear, or use Month for the full grid. Two sub-tabs: My events (your own events plus events from people you follow or are connected with) and Nearby (a map plus a list sorted by distance, with a radius picker and date chips for Today, This weekend and Next 7 days; if nothing is within your radius it shows the nearest events and says so). Filter chips: All, Trials, Camps, Games, Recruiting. On any event card you can RSVP (Going), share it, and see who is going; open the card for details, a reminder, Add to calendar, and people you follow who are going. Anyone signed in can create an event with the Create button in the Events header: title, type, sport, start and end, location, optional Spots (a capacity — RSVP closes when it is full), optional Repeat weekly, and — if you own or are staff on a team — an optional Team: the team's crest then shows on the event card and detail page instead of your avatar, with a 'by <team>' line and a link to the team. Events without a team show the organiser's avatar. Event share links open in the app (thesportingnetwork.com/event/…).

Good to know

  • Events created on the website as personal calendar entries are private and never appear in Nearby.
  • The Team field only appears if you own or are accepted staff on at least one team; events created on the website can't be linked to a team yet.
  • Reminders are local notifications on this device; Add to calendar writes to your phone's calendar app instead.
