SportNet wasn't built by observers of sport. It was built by people who lived it, understood its frustrations, and refused to accept that talented athletes go unnoticed.
Why SportNet exists
There are millions of athletes around the world pouring everything into their craft — training every day, competing relentlessly, giving sport their entire identity. Yet so many of them never get the opportunities they deserve simply because the right people never find them.
We saw this happen to someone close to us. That experience made us ask: why does a platform built specifically for sport not exist? LinkedIn is for offices. Instagram is for everyone. There was a massive gap — and we built SportNet to fill it.

The Journey
From idea to platform
The Idea
Watching a close friend — a genuinely talented athlete — struggle for years to get noticed in the sport they dedicated their life to. It wasn't lack of ability. It was lack of visibility. The vision for SportNet was born from that moment.
Building Begins
Development started. A small but focused team with one mission: build the platform that should have existed all along. Every decision guided by one question — what would actually serve athletes and coaches best?
Early Access Launch
The first users were invited to test the platform. The early community began forming and invaluable feedback started shaping the product into something even better than originally envisioned.
Web Launch & First Signing
SportNet officially goes live to the public. To mark the milestone, Jonathan Davison — Amateur MMA Fighter at Red Hark Academy — became our first ever signed athlete. The foundation of something great.
Second Founding Athlete
Makenzy Beard — international field hockey player at Cardiff and Met — signs with SportNet, becoming the second founding athlete on the roster. The founding class keeps growing.
Third Founding Athlete
Finn Kelsey — national-level cricketer at Midsomer Norton CC — joins the roster as the third founding athlete. Another sport, another discipline, another believer from day one.
iOS App Launch
SportNet lands on the App Store. The full platform — profiles, discovery, messaging, teams and events — built natively for athletes on the go.
Android App Launch
SportNet arrives on Google Play — because every athlete deserves access regardless of their device.
