How clubs and academies use SportNet team pages: join requests and invites, posting as the team, shared fixtures with confirmed results, and events with capacity.

A team page on SportNet is the club's official home: a roster, a feed, a fixtures list with results, and a place to post trials that reach athletes who have never heard of you. This guide walks through each part and ends with a plan for a club's first week on the platform.

Where teams live

Everything starts in the Teams tab on the bottom bar. From there you can join a team, manage the ones you run, post updates as a squad, and build a following around the club. Team profiles are also found through Discover and the search bar.

Getting players onto the roster

There are two ways in. A player can find the team and tap Join Team, which sends a request that an admin accepts or declines. Or the team can share an invite link or code; opening it takes the player straight to the join screen for that team.

Owners and admins handle all of this under the team's Manage screen. Manage → Members & staff has a Requests tab where join requests are accepted or declined, and an Invites tab listing everyone the team has invited. Only the invited person can accept an invite, so an admin cannot accept it on their behalf, but an invite can be cancelled from that tab. Manage is also where team details, members and staff are edited, and where the team's archived and deleted posts are kept.

Posting as the team

When you create a post, you can choose the team as the author instead of yourself. Team posts appear in the feeds of everyone who follows the team, so results, selection news and match photos reach supporters and prospective players without anyone having to share them on. The team also has its own main chat for the squad.

Fixtures and results that both teams agree on

Every team page has a Fixtures tab with Upcoming and Results. Owners and admins add a fixture with a date, home or away, venue and competition. For the opponent you can search for a team on SportNet or simply type a name.

If you pick a SportNet team, that team's admins get a notification to confirm or decline. Once confirmed the fixture appears on both teams' pages as one shared fixture, so neither side maintains a separate copy. Free-text opponents skip the confirmation step. Declined fixtures are only visible to the two teams' admins, and the proposing team can change the date to send the request again.

About two hours after kick-off, admins on both sides get a reminder to add the result. Either team's admin can enter the score. For a fixture linked to another SportNet team, the other side is then asked to confirm or amend it; the score shows straight away marked as awaiting confirmation and settles automatically after seven days if nobody responds. Confirmed results move to the Results list, which shows the season record (played, won, drawn, lost) and recent form. Opening a fixture shows the head-to-head record against that opponent.

Trials and open sessions as events

Events live under Discover → Events, with filter chips for Trials, Camps, Games and Recruiting. Anyone signed in can create one with a title, type, sport, start and end, and location. Two options matter for clubs. Spots sets a capacity, and RSVPs close when it is full. Repeat weekly turns a single session into a recurring one.

If you own or are accepted staff on a team, an optional Team field appears when you create the event. Attach it and the team's crest shows on the event card and detail page instead of your avatar, with a "by" line and a link to the team page. Athletes browsing Nearby see events on a map sorted by distance, with date chips for Today, This weekend and Next 7 days, so a trial you post reaches players in your area. They can RSVP with Going, share it, add it to their calendar and see which people they follow are also going.

Ownership, and what happens when someone leaves

The team owner can hand ownership to another member under Manage → Transfer ownership. If a team's owner has left SportNet altogether, an admin can claim the team instead, so a club is never locked out of its own page.

A first week for a club

  1. 1Day 1: set up the page. Create the team, add the crest, sport, location and details under Manage, and appoint at least one other admin so the page never depends on a single person.
  2. 2Day 2: bring the squad in. Share the invite link or code in the team group chat. Accept join requests under Manage → Members & staff → Requests.
  3. 3Day 3: publish your fixtures. Add the season's fixtures from the Fixtures tab. Search for opponents on SportNet where they exist so the fixture is shared and results are confirmed by both sides.
  4. 4Day 4: post as the team. Publish a first post as the team so followers and prospective players see the page is active.
  5. 5Day 5: post your next trial or open session. Create an event under Discover → Events, attach the team, set a capacity with Spots, and use Repeat weekly for regular sessions.
  6. 6Day 6: follow your area. Follow local athletes and rival clubs so their posts and results appear in your feed.
  7. 7Day 7: add the first result. After your first match, enter the score when the reminder arrives and watch the season record start to build.

Set up your club's official page and start recruiting from a wider pool.
